RECREATION STATUS

Weekend of: May 9th – May 12th 2008

The installation opens at 7 am on Friday May 9th.  All Recreation Permit holders and their guests may enter designated areas and use the installation as follows:  Units 1, 2, 3, 3A, 4, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, and 14 will open at 7 am on Friday May 9th and close Monday, May 12th at 10 am.  Units 5, 5A, 10A, 11, and 11A will open Saturday May 10th at 7 am and close Monday May 12th at 10 am.  Units 6 and 9 will remain closed.

  The installation is open to recreation only.  Frostproof gate will be closed.  The risk of fire is high, so ensure all campfires are completely contained and are completely extinguished and covered with soil before abandoning your campsites.

 

 Individuals needing temporary vehicle passes should report to the Outdoor Recreation office (building 600).  If the office is closed, these vehicles must be immediately removed from the installation.  A vehicle may not enter the hunt area without the proper decal or pass.

RECREATION NOTES

Weekend of:  May 9th – May 12th 2008

 

1.      All recreationists must have a permit before entering the public recreation area for the weekend.

 

2.      Weekend and one-day permit holders must turn in the paper permit at building 600.  They can be placed through the window on the front porch when the office is closed.  Do not turn in at front gate.

 

3.      The installation opens at 7 am on Friday May 9th.  All Permit holders and their         guests may enter designated areas and use the installation as follows:  Units 1, 2,         3, 3A, 4, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, and 14 will open at 7 am on Friday May 9th and close         Monday, May 12th at 10 am.  Units 5, 5A, 10A, 11, and 11A will open Saturday May         10th at 7 am and close Monday May 12th at 10 am.  Units 6 and 9 will remain         closed.

 

4.      In the case of an emergency: Call the Fire Department at 863-452-4117 (117 From Morgan Hole Campground information station phone).

 

5.      All trash, bottles, cans, etc must be properly disposed of in the dumpsters at Morgan Hole and Willingham campgrounds.  Do not leave gas bottles or other hazardous materials on the installation.  Burning trash in campfires is not permitted.

 

6.      Do not dump sewage on the ground or in the port-o-potties.

 

7.      Do not camp within 25 feet of water pumps, port-o-potties, showers or pavillions.  Do not move port-o-potties.

 

8.      Generator rules are posted at the information stations and campground entrances.

SPECIAL NOTICE

 

FIRE DANGER IS ELEVATED DUE TO DROUGHT CONDITIONS.  PLEASE ENSURE CAMPFIRES ARE COMPLETELY CONTAINED.  WHEN LEAVING THE CAMPSITE TEMPORARILY OR FOR THE WEEKEND, DOUSE THE FIRE WITH WATER AND COVER THE AREA WITH SOIL.

 

TIMBER WORK IS DONE IN UNIT 13/14, BUT WILL CONTINUE IN UNITS 1, 2, AND 3.

 

 

ALL TREE STANDS MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE PRA BY 27 APRIL 2008.  ANY STANDS REMAINING BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE OUTDOOR RECREATION PROGRAM.
